A SELECTION OF OTHER PHOTOGRAPHS

The largest crater ever made by man in anger is now a unique memorial to all those who suffered in the Great War. It is dedicated to peace, fellowship and reconciliation between all nations who fought on the Western Front. The Lochnagar Crater Memorial was purchased by Richard Dunning MBE on July 1st 1978. If you would like to know more about how Richard came to own the Crater please go to www.lochnagarcrater.org. Richard is supported by the superb 'Friends of Lochnagar' who give generously of their time, effort and money to help maintain the Crater. My wife, Hazel and I are members and these photographs, taken by me in May 2015, show the work we do and the fellowship enjoyed by the Friends. New volunteers are welcome.

If you're planning a visit to the Lochnagar crater, you couldn't find a nicer place to stay than at the B&B run by David and Julie in La Boisselle, just walking distance from the crater and close to Thiepval, Albert and the other important places on the Somme battlefield.
